Evening Gents,

As some of you may know my 40 has turned out to have rather a bit more cancer than expected. Have any of you used replacement panels such as these?

Just wondered about value for money and whether smilars products are available closer to home?

Cheers

They look good, there are a few sellers on ebay.com.au selling various replacement panels might be cheaper on freight

Ive not bought any 40 replacement panels as I don't have a 40 :( , however I have bought similar things for my bug. If you're not very efficient at panel work and want it to look mint then they are well worth buying and the job will look much more original that if you patch it together

Cheers guys... It is more about time and motivation... The weather is getting warmer and my toy is not yet legal.

Was talking with a guy at VTNZ (where I have to get my VIN check done) and I might require any rust repairs to be "certified" or authorised or something...

So was figuring it might be easier to buy these and get them welded in by a pro.

The USD/NZD exchange rate is farly sweet at the moment.

Will have a troll on Oz eBay too.

Will hit up Jase too.

So I ordered one of those replacement panels for the drivers footwell from CCOT...

They got back to me with a freight cost of USD$495. Seemed a bit steep I though for something is not really that heavy or large.

Those of you who have bought Air Lockers etc, what sort of prices have you paid for freight back to good ole NZL?

That seems ok I guess.

But for a 5kg part (at most) I guess the box would be a big volume for the weight.

Forgot to mention that was for Air Freight.

That price was air freight as well with Fedex. How big is the bit you want sent?

dunno how all that freight shit works, had a viscous hub airfreighted in a big oversized box for 30 bucks US a couple of weeks ago and had a couple of airlockers and compressor airfreighted about 5 years ago for about 300 bucks US
