Gday everyone. I managed to roll my hilux (2.8D) onto its left hand side- managed to turn the engine off. Left it to sit for an hour or so after I got it upright, and checked that it turned over by turning the starter motor/belt and it started alright.
It feels fine to drive, doesn't over heat, but there is oil in the air filter.
Is it probable that oil got into the cylinders and damaged the engine?

Probably ran out the engine breather. Replace the filter, she'll be sweet

diesels burn oil. if it still runs fine then there obviously wasn't enough oil to cause compression lock.
change the filter. its a hilux after all. look what they did to it on topgear.
