Hey guys just started having issues with my wee surf this weekend, the cnut wont start.... she'll turn over but wont fire, her symptoms are

no glow plug light, no diesel coming through, slight leak at top of fuel pump :?:

So far ive checked all fuses and unplugged/plugged most things back in. Tested power on glow plugs-nothing there. Cracked injectors and nothings coming through. Taken ECU out and opened it up but nothing obvious.

Next on the list is fuel filter and small filter on fuel pump.

Im leaning towards ECU from what ive read but maybe someone else has had this before?

Any help or opionions greatly appreciated

my surf wouldnt start one monday morning, leak on top of pump had allowed diesel to syphon back to tank couldnt seem to prime it back up, got the seal replaced and a non return valve on outlet of filter/primer not sure about the electrics part tho.

Yea seems real weird with the spark plugs not going at the same time. Hopefully someone else has had this problem and can let me know!

Hmm, yea does sound pretty odd. Never seen a 1kz with sparkplugs yet...

You mean glows?
Check power at glow plugs themselves, glow dash light is only a (poor) indicator of whats happening with glows.
Pump up at fuel filter until pump goes hard, then try start.
How long has it been since it was running?
We talking overnight, weeks, months???
Any never had any problems before now?
More info makes it easier for others to help

Yea glow plugs my bad. Was running 2 days ago with nothing out of the ordinary. No power at the glow plugs at any time. Pumped fuel pump several times and have now replaced fuel filter. Totally out of the ordinary

Sounds like it still might be ecu. maybe re open it and unscrew the 2nd panal inside look under that and see if you can see any small black spots on the solder joins....

I'm down in invercargill but thanks anyway. Got the ecu sent off to Nelson for a going over, funnily enough the guy said they were getting one 1kz a day at the moment so maybe something for everyone to watch out for
