So who's keen??
Was thinking of the following:

Meet BP Cambridge, depart 8pm.
Head to Lake Ririwhakaitu, arrive between 10 and 11pm (2 hr trip), set up camp and talk bollocks.

Head to minginui, around the egde of Whirinaki forest following public roads to exit onto Napier Taupo road. There was a big wash out last time I went through, we found a track around it, so might be some spade work

Hoping to camp at destination on Desert road. Brrrrr

Various options,
- Walk to historic hut,
- go to Ohakuni and doodle through Ratamia rd (unformed),
- take some tools and clear a track that used to loop off the desert road back to Kaimanawa road.
- Head up Tukino Ski access (yawn)
- Open to any suggestions!!!
The idea is for anyone to come.
Provided you have tow hooks front and rear, a spade, a stretchy rope, PRS (handheld is fine) and a good attitude, your truck will be sweet, even with little A/T's. Its a cruise, not a hard core trip.
There will be a fair bit of tar seal cruising in convoy, with most of Saturday on the gravel with some optional low range stuff, then the wash out to navigate, and a 15 min low range section to the camp site.
Sunday, well depends, if we do some track work, or get adventurous, then all day could be in low range!!!!
So all we need to do is lock in a weekend??
1st weekend of October maybe??
