Another newbe....

Post by kiwioffroada »

Hi all I have bought a challenger and while its not the most capable for 4wd it ticks the boxes for the first one. I am looking for a decent front steel tube bar to mount a towball and winch to. Dont want to remove the front bumper and put one of those massive ones on.

Also while Ive got the limelight. To lift or not to lift???? will i need to lift the front to compensate for the bar, winch etc

If adding weight to the front, then the current springs won't handle it well and will be nose heavy. You don't have to 'lift' the suspension, but you will need to fit heavy duty springs (do Challengers have front springs or torsion bars) to compensate for the extra load.

hi and welcome

assuming its a pre 2000 they are Torsion front, so you can wind them up a little, dont know how you will get on finding a tube style over bumper front bar, esp with SRS if youhave it?

cheers !!
