KZJ/LJ78 Prado on 36" Simexs?

Just got myself a set of 36x12.5x15 Simexs. The price was right so couldnt say no. Anyone else running an older model prado on 36's? Im guessing ill just have to trim guards a bit more aggressively than for 35's. Like the idea of the triple block as its a wider tyre and the wagon isnt exactly lightweight. Just wanting peoples thoughts/ideas. Also what width rims to run? Cant afford beadlocks, maybe further down the track. recommended is 8.5 - 11.
Cheers, Micah.

the look pretty cool on 15x10s, makes them look way wider

Our SWB prado runs 35" Silverstones on 2" suspension and 2" Body lift, hardly rub at all just a tiny bit on the back sometimes.

they fit fine on 8 or 10 inch rims it comes down to your preference, probably more important will be the amount of offset, the're a fawking tall tyre to get on a truck if it hasnt got a fair bit of lift and trim

If you are not running beadlocks, think 8 wide rims would be ale to run lower psi. Anyone have any light on this theory?

The idea of narrow rims is to apply more pressure to the beads when aired down.
However with a super aggressive tyre... I don't think it will matter much...
When it grips... the weakest link will let go...
And with no bead-locks guess what...

I can't afford bead lock rims.... and run tubes instead..
Seems to work ok.... But I dont have a lead foot... And the Prado has limited power so to speak

Same boat as you kbushnz, only a 1KZ in it. and hopefully with these ill just be able to idle through most stuff! im not a super aggressive driver, learnt not to be with a v8 and standard land rover axles. after breaking so many that i lost count, i learned to control the right foot. think ill go with some 8 inch rims and see how we go. Who do you guys recomend to cut out your rim centers and re set them with bigger offset?
