Jono finally got to take his new class 8 truck out for a test, It spend a bit of time on the dyno and made 483hp at the wheels but has been wound back to about 410 to run the engine in then it'll see an easy 500

This is just to show good trucks get built in the North Island aswell

Who's Jono? is he on ORE? is it a 4x4? looks cool.

leaves a pretty cool roost when it speeds up

Looks like Taupo1000/Baja type of race truck to me.
Looks bloody cool anyway, anything that can still spin rooster tails at that speed has to be cool

Jono is the owner of JRC, Jono's Race Craft. he builds off road toys
He did join ORE but doesn't get on much, to busy in his shed.
It is a 4X4, runs a hand built transfercase and a mid/reverse mounted twin turbo lexus.

thats a real nice rig. Has got a good amunt of speed and seemed to handle the bullrushes pretty much like they wern't even there

Yep, certainly is built for Taupo 1000, we raced in the 2007 one. I think thats when the idea was hatched to build something like this.
The engine was built to handle up to 800hp so no shortage of rooster tails
