Woodhill 22 Sept

Post by FORGE1 »

Hey All,

Doing my final outing in the bighorn before she get pulled back to original form to be sold. Unless I get a decent offer with everything on it.

Plan is to leave Whangarei as early as possible (TBA) to make the most of the day and I will have the 33s on a trailer so need time to swap them over as well.

There is probably 3 (inc me) that I know of coming down from up here so anyone else want to tag along let me know.

Cheers
Ray

I reckon you should leave earlier, I went down there about 2 weeks ago, if you leave earlier it means you can go a bit slower and enjoy the views but still be there by 9.00AM.

I'll be there with the patrol team so please help yourselves to some of the deeper bogs and give us something to do haha. Nah jokes but I was there last Saturday as well until I snapped a c.v on the surf and I must say the rains have certainly changed some of the tracks considerably requiring a bit of a sweat-up on the spades.

Sweet will do. I dont have a snorkel on this time so the deeper bogs may only get a little work out from me but others might go a bit harder lol I dont want to break anything this time as I have a tradition in the bighorn that something always breaks down there.

Cool - thanks Ray - and yeah, always good to meet others from here!

Will be meeting in the carpark area? If your leaving Whanga's at 7, will be there around 8.30 or 9.00?

I will be in the big green 80 series :)

Cheers,

Sweet :)

My brother and brother n law will be there as well, SWB Safari and Safari Ute. They will probably be the first there as they are coming from the Shore.

Yeah should get there around 9amish. There is a few trucks coming from up here and when I get there I need to put my 33s on which will take a couple of minutes.

Hey All at this stage its all on. I have managed to pick up a bug today (daughter had it the day before but cleared up this morning). I was just wanting to know if I can get you numbers in case I wake up in the morning and is no good. I have spoken to my family in auckland who are going and they said if I go or not they will still be going. I should clear up by the morning as im already feeling better.

I would just hate to not have people sitting around with no advise and waiting.

Cheers
Ray

Was good to meet you guys Zooker & Jay. Sorry I had to pike early and lucky we did as the wife and eldest took a turn for the worst and we had to stop a few times on the way back as they couldnt hold anything down.

Pics from the weekend. Was a good day until about 15min in haha as usual the bighorn lived upto expectations of something going wrong and died half way through a bog (No water in the intake either). lucky she got going again but it left me with a "Check Engine" light and a funny clutch...again. On the last pic where the Terrano is stuck I made it through but once out there was no clutch pedal so need to have a closer look at that at somestage before she get the $1 reserve on TM.

Pics and vids that the wife took are below. (Will also post in weekend achievements).
