Offroad-Express

As I know you all will have an opinion I would like to ask it.

I picked up my 1989 2.8 (non turbo) Hilux today

It drove like I expected, 3rd gear as soon as it saw a hill, but got along on the flats okay, at least I dont have to worry about speeding tickets on the open road!!!!

It has 32x11.5x15 mts, very worn, so will be replacing them soon.

Im thinking of putting 31x10.5x15 on it, improved power and better fuel economy??

Should I stick with the 32's?

If I stick with 32's will there be clearance issues off road, it doesnt appear to be lifted and I don't want to lift it as I prefer the center of gravity as low as possible.

How much offroading are you expecting to do in this? if not alot go for the 31 tyres if you are go for a 32 or 33 and change your diff ratios.

I have run 31 10.5s for while and think you wouldnt notice much if you were to change to them. But they would be cheaper than the 32's as they seem to be the most common size. Or lift it and go 33's.

Its going to be my daily drive 50km return to work and the occasional weekend run, so will probably go with 31's but will stick with mt's

yea would be my choice aswel nice looking rig

The dealer I bought it from (Christchurch) said it was an ex Blenheim vehicle.
