Land Rover tyre sizes

Post by MikeL200 »

What are the equivilent tyre sizes for 6.50/16 and 7.50/16?

Any recommendations? They are for a 1964 Series 2A 88" with original 2.25L motor.

back in the SIIA days when we had them 7.00x16 SATs were the standard size tyres to have on them, there were still some with 6.00x16 and 6.50x16's, you used to find you'd start running out of steering lock if you tried putting 7.50x16 or 825x16 tyres on them. The amount of sag in the 200 year old leaf springs will probably have a bearing on what size tyres will fit...... but anything is do-able :P

235/85/16 is the equivalent of 7.50x16. And possibly 205r16 for the other one?
