Offroad-Express

Hi All

Its my son's 5th birthday and he is mad about 4x4's, Monster Trucks and MotoX, so we will be having a BBQ lunch and 4x4 fun day at the Rallywoods hut on Saturday, 13th October.

So I am looking for some kid/family friendly 4x4's to join us for lunch that day and give the kids a ride around some easy tracks. We will be supplying the food and drink for lunch, in return for your services.

As I'm not 100% familiar with all the tracks, I'll need someone who wants to do a recky with me to help come up with a good circuit. (This weekend, during the week or even Friday avo, 12th Oct)
If I can drive my truck through it, then its going to be fairly safe.

Our plan :
- We will all depart from my place at Moonshine Road at 10am that morning.
- Probably arrive around 10:30
- Settle in and give the drivers a briefing on what we are doing and some light food/drink.
- Do some circuits with the kids (note to self: ear plugs)
- Have some lunch and cake
- Maybe do another circuit depending on how the first trip went.
- We plan on winding up at about 2pm

You are more than welcome to stay on.

From the green hut up Lady's mile, cruzer drive to wong way. Down wong way and back down the main road (Bulls run) to another track (doesn't have a name) that comes back up to the turnoff to the green hut. Then back to the hut.
Round trip should take about 20mins.

I don't mind cutting out wong way at all. My truck went down fine, but very slowly and its a narrow body.

I don't want anyone to have any damage.

Could look at going up bean hill instead of wong way....

I thought the discussion at the meeting the other night ruled out any form of harder tracks, which meant that virtually all of RW would be ruled out

Bean Hill in my opinion would be worse as those that fail (and there will be some) then have to back down and bypass it

i know it not my place to say but *i was thinking* axle twister the nole and like around the bog holes threw a few big mud puddles??? nice easy fun stuff that wont hurt any 1 if u bugger it up ??? just my thorts tho.reece and skid know better tho

I have 21 kids and 18 adults, not including us 4wd'rs coming to this.
Usually the parents do a drop and run at kids birthdays, but they all want to come to this one for some strange reason

If the shit really hits the fan for Saturday, I will put a post on here Saturday morning to advise any change of plans. But for now it is all ON!

Have just returned from the green hut. Whoever used and abused the area last time needs to be shot.
The wife and I just spent the last 2 hours cleaning the place up. You should have seen the look on her face when we arrived.

good on ya ants the place dosent scrub up too bad for a falling down old hut sorry I cant make it tomorrow I was already pre-booked on another trip.... tell your young fellar to have a beer for me

****UPDATE****

Due to the weather we have revised our plan slightly.

At 10am everyone will still be meeting at my place. There are a number of families coming with 4x4's so they can at least reach the hut and will just take the kids/adults who want to come up for a ride.
The rest will hang out at our place and prep the food etc.

We will try and depart from here just after 10am, do some rides around Rallywoods and we can come back down to my place for late lunch.

got there about 1.20pm

found the fire still smoldering so must have not missed you guys by much

we went for a short drive, checked out the logging operation at the end of cruiser drive, winched here and there, re-spooled winches on the airstrip and left the way we came in
