Off to the rally site AGAIN tomorrow for check and measure Lines of Sight. My Marshalls have been and will be again instructed to watch for line of sight. While I do all this tomorrow, Rossco (my co e) will be fitting an auto into the buggy ready for Thursday when I head back to the rally site for another marshall training session. For those who have never been involved in prepping a Nationals Trials this is not unusual.BUT DONT LET IT PUT YOU off organizing one, it is great FUN once it is all over

Well back from a Woodhill Patrol... No rescues needed for the punters.. But had to recover ourselves

Typical.....

Even had to use both winches at once... One to lift up and over and the other to pull.....

And then Monstr got us lost....well sort of... So there was nothing for it but to go the wrong way on a few tracks....But hey we can do that when on Patrol
Took a newbie with us....waza4x4toy... hope we didn't put him and his family off.....

went to Ron's (crazybustard) and picked up the xj parts truck and dragged it back to auckland in the near horizontal rain. if anyone wants doors, boot (minus glass), carpet, some dash bits or the auto. let me know

tomorrows mission-pull the bits ron still wants off it, start labelling the loom and get some bits up on $1 reserve.
cheers

scored a new towrope. 25000kg 7m flat strap...small nick in the side, enough to get it thrown out at work - truck usually weighs 12 tonne + when it sinks.
given the heaviest 4wd i've got is a surf it should be fine

Did a night run up murawai last night fith a few boys and girls form our club.
Was hectic windy and rainy.
Cars all got a good sand blasting and so did we.
Was a realy good challange with most vehicles getting stuck at some point. 1 broken winch rope and one shear pin sheard.
The run back down the beach was interesting due to only having about 30 - 50m visability.
lada didnt miss a beat

.

!
this was when the weather was still good then it got dark windy and wet
spent this morning cleaning all the sand off.
off to work tonight yay

Went to the coast on saturday and picked up another hilux, played in the snow and done a few skids in the lewis pass on the way home.
Today painted the chassis on my other hilux then watched the great race
So all in all a great weekend.

started the rear disc conv, parted off n turned down drum outers to fit inside the 413 discs, measured up the hole spacing for the caliper mounts and cut some 10x 200mm plate @145 wide. Rembered I had house wk to do so called it a day - will make up 1 side and see if the offset wks and go from there (skim plate/ add washers/ hide plate already cut and get some more)

rebuilt a loading bank that i drove off with the spreader on monday, turning round in a guy's yard. only way i could keep the boss from finding out

broke the 3 strainer posts that were the wall, laid it flat. put a front wheel off it, no damage but my passenger was shitting himself...
forgotten how much of a prick of a job it is replacing broken posts with a spade, been using a tractor + borer for years now.

I will take a pic of them tonight.
They sit in the centre consol inbetween the handbrake and pen holders.
where the 2 squares are.
