Urgent Question...please - Load Rating?

Post by garryg »

Have currently got 265/70/16 load rating 112 on the Pajero. I have been looking at a new set of 255/70/16 load rating 111! Can these be fitted? Are they safe?

The existing ones are still fine but want to change the A/T's for H/T's.

Your reply will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Load rating for 112 is 1120kg, rating for 111 is 1090kg.

Cheers Mike,

Excuse my ignorance, but will the 30kg Difference be OK (safe & legal) to fit?

Auction finishes at 9 am in the morning (hoping to get a bargain).

Yep as above, you'll be sweet. The load index is the rating of what each tyre is rated to carry.
So you would good to carry up to 4360 kg, verses 4480kg on your existing tyres.

also you need to be aware if you're mixing tyres, the WOF standards state you need to be within 2 or 3 points of the opposing tyre on same axle

so luckily you will be fine

Thanks Skid,

I am looking at changing all 4. Will hopefully get the A/T's on here tomorrow and try and get some of the money back.

Not that it pertains to this, but it is 2 points.
And yes 111 load rating will be more than adequate....

And yes, I know this isn't a new post....now.....
