HI Guys,

New to the forum, I have a 1995 d21 Navara which I have just tried to fit a 50mm bod lift all was going well until I got to the rear set of body mounts which are into captive nuts in the body. I could not undo these I think the nut may have been spot welded to the chassis and have come loose. If I have this wrong please correct me. Without cutting a hole behind the rear seat I have no idea to see whats going on. If possible I would like to avoid this.

Has any one fitted the a body lift to a d21 navara and had a similar problem? and what did you do?

Also im looking at fitting a turbo from a terrano I know lots of people have done this just wondering if there is anything to be careful of. From what I can see its a simple swap with minimal hassle.

Any help on either topic would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers

Thomas

Hi Thomas
One of my old trucks was a early d21 navara i had the exact same problem!!!! fitting a 50mm body lift very frustrating ae!!! I ended up having to cut two tidy holes in the floor behind the seats to find abit of a mess! :?
I ended up tidying up all the rust etc i came across around the bolt hole and i welded in fresh steel around the bolt hole and welded in a new captive nut in position. Then i just formed some fresh panel steel oversized to take shape of floor and tacked/sealed that in.
Hope this helps

Yeah was thinking about cutting a couple of small holes and seeing what was in there. Just wanted to see if anyone had had a similar experience.

Thanks for your reply.

haha common problem those rear mounts are rust traps , mine was a bastard the bolt snaped taking it out and the captive nut had a dirty big weld bead on it were it came loose before , took several hours 2 free the nut and replace it , just make sure you squirt a good bit of fish oil or something in there after to stop it happening again
