This is a handy wee thing to have on your GoPro. Via your Smart phone it can operate a number of cameras all at the same time.
It'll be out for the Android platform very soon.

Does the same? Will it do 3D?
For the extra $200 I think you get a better kit with the Gopro. But one thing going for the Liquid (that I've seen) is better sound. And good for the price.

GoPro only does 3D if you buy the second camera. Liquid Ego already has WiFi built in, not as an attachment costing another $200

Sure you have to buy the extra camera. But the Liquid doesn't do 3D.
Does Liquid have a LCD back like the GoPro? (sure, at an extra cost)
Is it water proof? If so, does it have a floaty bacpac? (sure at an extra cost)
Does the Liquid have the same broad fish eye view?
The GoPro sets the standard. Has more features than any other on the market today.
You get what you pay for.

Someone just told me about this new unit.
GoPro has some serious competition.
The new GoPro Hero3 soon to be released should be interesting.

I want one!
With the whole gopro/smart phone thing. Can you start/stop recording from your phone? ie. if you are in your car and come up to a tricky section can you flick the camera on using your phone? that would be cool.

Yes you can, as well as Live Preview. The WiFi backpak also comes with a WiFi remote that will allow you to control up to 50 GoPro units.

Example GoPro App features that expand the HD HERO2 experience:
• Full camera control, including: Power On/Off, Recording Start/Stop, and all Mode settings
• Live scene-preview prior to and during video and photo capture
• Real time monitoring of the camera vitals including battery life and SD card capacity
• Sync GoPro camera date and time to your smartphone or tablet
• Daily GoPro “Photo of the Day” and “Video of the Day” updates
Subsequent releases of the GoPro App will enable streaming playback of videos and photos from the camera to a smart device, sharing of photo and video content from the camera to social networks, controlling of multiple cameras, and streaming live video from the camera to the web.

Sweet! I brought the first Contour HD that came out years ago. (with the two laser pointers) The sound playback was way better than the GoPro. Even the latest GoPro. Looks like they've come along way since.

yea the laser is great, this one has a line instead of two dots, works mint. It can also use standard screw type camera mounts. Then just get mounts from deal extreme. Its not cheap with the GPS though but worth every penny
