right meant to be heading to kaikoura tomorrow but my water hose which i think is heater hose has sprung a leak.

anyone in chch area got a hose lying around they want to sell? and can be picked up tonight or early morning. so the pic 2 with red arrow shows leaking hose. if i join the red and blue will that just pass out the heater as a last resort?

pic 1 shows where both hoses join the firwall

yea, they are the heater hoses. Cut end off where its leaking, then clamp back on with hose a bit shorter. Will work as a temporary solution :)

yea did think of that but dont think there is enough play in the hose to make it reach

If it kinks trying to bypass it you are more than likely going to have the same problem with a longer temp hose anyway that isn't molded to shape or have angled joiners as if you come straight up to go over the block your bonnet will more than likely not give it enough room and force it down (kinking it).
Tried the same ideas on my td42 as a temp fix one day. Ended up getting a brass 90d joiner ($$$) and bypassing it then got 'flexi' hose and used the metal bends that sleeve over the hose to stop it kinking.
