Hilux 6 Shooter Knuckles and RHD Arms

Post by suzolla »

Hi,
I see these are now available, am looking at buying some, anyone else interested in a set.
See trailgear site http://www.trail-gear.com/rhd-six-shooter-knuckles
Probably be around $650 (not, see below) landed by the time you do exch rate, GST, shipping and customs charges, Cost will be a little bit less depending on how many want them.

Got some arriving in a few days, turns out they will be quite a bit cheaper than I thought above.

Will be just $500 + post for the pair of knuckles and arms.

PM me if interested
Cheers
Tim

I would have been into this Tim, but I have just had my knuckles keywayed (along with the 5th stud option). Getting the knuckles machined was only $150 cheaper than buying these arms, and that doesn't include the time I spent sorting the extra stud out etc.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Am I right in thinking that the 6 shooters fit onto the 60 series knuckles? An they are supplied bare with no studs etc?

Hi,
I am pretty sure they do but not 100% sure, others on here will know.
Yes not supplied with studs, just supplied with shims.
Have got some of these sets if you need Trail-Gear Super Metal Knuckle Stud Hardware Kit http://www.trail-gear.com/knuckle-studs
Each set does one complete side, $125 per set. Can just get one set if you want to use the studs and cones from your old knuckles.

Hey Tim
Looking at replacing the studs etc on the steering arms of my -71 Prado.
Will these parts fit my factory components?
Guess I will be looking for 12 studs etc, for the three steering arms.
What cost?

These will not fit 80 series or lj78/kzj78 as the swivel balls are bigger .

Hi Tom,

I have emailed LVVTA about the various steering components regarding whether they need to be NDT 't. And if they do whether I can get them done in bulk and then supply them with paper work so you don't need to get them tested each time.

Also Tom,
spoke to Don Hoff and sent him the info and he said that he would not require any NDT to be done on the parts.

Also have been told by 2 Certifiers, Chch and Hamilton that they would not require NDT to be carried out on them for Certification.
