hey in my surf LN130 2.4L turbo there is oil coming out of the breather and into the air pipe which then leads down to the turbo, i was just wondering if there is a way to fix this or if anyone else has had the same problem.
Thanks
Sam

need a catch can.
2lt engines are well known for blowing oil out the breather. also venting it to air rather than hooking it back to the intake helps a lot to.

Can you buy them or do you have to make them yourself?

bit of both.
typically buy one and fit some sort of filtering medium.

is there any way to stop the oil from going in the breather pipe in the first place because i don't really want to be emptying the catch can all the time

no. all engines will blow some oil out.
however there is a fix if its an early motor. toyota makes a longer pipe which goes into the rocker cover. i think the 2.8's have the longer pipe.
the problem with the 2.4 is that with the short pipe the oil in the baffles gets picked up and blow out.
however some people found that fitting the longer pipe restricted the breather which pressurized the sump which made the turbo leak oil.
most people just fit a catch can and empty it when required.
