L200 not getting oil to the No.1 rocker

Post by Zooker »

My old man has an 95 L200 with a 4d56t in it.
The thing used to be the most reliable ute ever.
Then the heater hose split and it got hot, then the No.1 cam lobe wore out.

We have since replaced the head and everything in it.
Now its got noisey tappets. they are adjusted correctly.

Dad thinks it not getting oil to the front of the cam.

Does anybody know what this could be??
Dad swears nothing was blocked when he put the new head on.

Cheers, Adam

I'm picking an oilway in the block is blocked. Bad news if I am right as its tear down and rebuild time. Although it could just be the brg is not seated right and is blocking the oilway. Either way its top off for a lookseeand maybe a chemical clean of oilways.

I am guessing of course...

Its still pumping alot of oil to the head.
Only its not getting enough into the rocker shaft I think.

Its just the front rocker starving of oil, the rest are sweet as.

One of the rocker caps is different to the rest, I think it is the front one, you need to take them off to check thought, I think it has an extra oil hole in the bottom, might not have gone back on the same?
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
