winch cable

yesterday we were hav a clean up in the workshop and found a roll of 9mm wire cable 6 strand , is it to big to fit to my winch or use it as a winch extentsion, a quick measure up my drive looks like over 80 ft of it any ideas

most winch cable is 9mm bro so i were you i would use it :wink: im running 13mm cable on my winch :shock: but its a pretty big drum so i dont struggle for room....have about 70m of cable on it 8)

I had 11mm on the Safari, and now run 9mm. 9mm is ok, the shear pins still break first.

Jeezus :roll: leave it in the shed and use plasma/synthetic rope, or give it to someone you don't like :)

Jeezus :roll: not everybody is made of money. :D

If you don't use it on your winch get an eye put in each end & one of those kito clips so you can use it as a shorter length. Zip tie it into a tight coil & throw it in the back when you're on a winching mission. Extra bits of rope can be damn handy on the hard yakka trips.

How does the saying go... you can never have too much horsepower or too much winch rope :D
