Gidday,

I was driving into town tonight and my right indicator started flickering and pulsing on and off as though it was possessed. I wasn't indicating left or right at the time, it just started happening. I am assuming that the fact I smashed off the trailer plug connection, the other weekend, may have something to do with it shorting out....

Does this sound plausible, or anybody have any other ideas?

If the wiring to/in your trailer plug is shorted out it can cause the symptoms you mention.
Been there done that. flattened the plug on a rock, had flashing brakes lights and instant hazard lights.

Haha yep, turns out that was the issue funnily enough.
