Trying to eliminate oil leaks & about to pull the belts off for the 3rd time.
Im going to try get to the crank seal and harmonic balancer seals.
Does anyone know the method for the removal of the cam belts Crankshaft sproket? is a gear puller fine? Can remove the Crankshaft pulley no worries with a normall bolt puller.
The Harmonic 'silent shaft sprokets' whats the best way to crack the nuts on them? With belt still fitted and rattle gun? Then they should just side off?
Any special tips/tools for getting the seals back on? Had to re do the cam's seal twice as the first time i fitted it the thing leaked worse than before i replaced it. Are the Blue seals that come with pump/belt kits known for being average fit or user error? Seemed a bit tight, and BNT one popped on with no worries.
Cheers Chris

How did you get on there? I did the same on mine a while ago and it leaks just as bad again after maybe 5000km's. Truth is when those engines get tired they are very efficient compressors and pressurise the crankcase something wicked. No seal will prevent that. Looking at a new engine....... wonder at my sanity but utes are just bloody ridiculous prices now. Mines done 350,000 hard kms. It owes me nothing!

Turns out after having the cam and silent shafts off 5 times when i removed the water pump the 1st time i got a little rattle gun happy and removed a bolt that wasnt for the pump and has an oil galary behind it. DOW! Not a drip after 2 weeks. Atleast i can now do a cam belt in 45 mins
and replaced a hoooole bunch of seals.
