Why don't you get some extractors for a 1300?? They are available, although I'd avoid the lukey brand - the flange doesn't line up with the ports very well.

I bought some lukey ones, and apart from the flange, they gave me 1600 ones which didn't fit as they hit the engine mount.

I know coby 1600 16V ones will fit a sami with a 1600 16V in it.

There are three brands I know of for zuks: Coby, Genie, and Lukey.

I don't think coby make them for the 1300 / Samurai, but their 1600 16V ones look pretty good.

Apparently the Genie ones are also very good, and they do make 1300 ones.

Prices I've seen range from $200 - $300

I have a 97 too :)

Lukey are crap, I got some and a full 2" exhaust off Lester. After I cut the flange off cut a new one and welded it back on to make it line up, I wraped the exhaust and fitted it under my zuk. The only power gain was in my mind :( And it cost me around $400 plus exhaust wrap and my time. Fittting was free :) (done by a mate in the exhaust game). Oh and lester had already cut and welded the extractors to fit the coil setup, as NONE fit off the shelf :(

After all that it really made no noticable difference, basically it's a waste of time I even gave it a birthday with a new K&N at the same time.

I have just finished a 1600 16v conversion and it's really nice now :) I got some coby 1600 ones for my new engine and they are really nice :D They fit stright in, it's a bit tight but they do work. I would say if you used these on a 1300 they would hang bellow the chassis rail (which is BAD).

The engine conversion excluding exhaust cost me less than the exhaust for the 1300 and it's about a 50% power and economy gain. Keep an eye out for the 1600 you won't regret it... you will with an exhaust on the stock donk.
