thought id post up,let people know.

came home from long weekend to find work van broken into, and moved forward out the way to get the truck out the driveway.

key barrel al busted but looks like a flat batt stoped them. two more kill switches to get past but doesnt look like they know about these. they also tried to push it buy the looks but gave up on that.

truck has been made mostly unmovble, without a fair amount of time to get it rolling, have a feeling they'l come back for another go.

i also live in a fairly safe street, nabours look over my drive/truck and 15 sec walk to the cop shop.
goes to show, doesnt matter how safe you think you are.
could have driven off in the van since they had it going to move it,shows they were only after the truck.

This is out of control! You would think that with this much evidence of safaris being stolen the cops might be able to put 2 and 2 together. But I guess it's all just too hard. What pisses me off the most was the cops response when JR sells them about the attempted theft, "what do u want us to do about it". Makes me angry. By the sounds of it the only way to catch these pricks is vigalanty justice! And then we get in trouble for it. What a flawed system.

farmer down here had 1000ltrs diesel stolen while back. Theives came for another go so he rung the cops they told him 'we'll try and get there soon"
Hung up waited 5 min and rung them back and said don't worry i've just shot one of them. cops were there in no time.  .
Should try that.
Was done when cops actually arrested the bad guys and not the person trying to defend their property though

look at that guy from drilling company in kaiapoi, caught people trying to nick his fuel tank trailer.
He gave them a smack and held them there till the cops got there, last i herd the owner was up on assault and kidnapping charges!

took 30 odd minutes of arguing with the lady, trying to tell het there was a problem with this going on in chch, she finnaly got out the phone book and looked up the car theft squad in hornby, and gave me the number and told me to try them, said maybe they could help. well done papanui police.

You could always make a complaint to police complaints authority saying they refused to do there job.... A long shot but if enough people make complaints something might get done.

Way more to this than just a smack...will be a very interesting case when it comes up in court again.

Thats stupid about them not doing prints,

when i was in milford sound, 3 cars got stolen and taken on joy rides, one ritten off and the other 2 just driven down the road.

cops came in the next day to do prints and everything, and the closest town is 2 hours away from there, so why cant they do prints if they are only 10mins away?

This is just bullshit.

im gunna say it cause it seems that its definitly a possibitlity but i think there is a cop playing dirty somewhere. this just doesnt add up at all.

Prints cost around 6k to be done, its not done in house by the police.

With the budget cuts they get im seeing a pattern as to why.
