As above, I have an 80 series with a 3fe and A440F gearbox that has been holding in gear so looking at replacing it. I've found one through ore but it looks like its off a diesel, how compatible are they?

i would say yes it should the only issue is you may need the correct flex plate

i know the holes for the bell housing will be the same as it was std pattern for both the diesel and petrol's to run the same gearboxes just used different clutches and pressure plates

2f and 3f blocks were the same
the 3fe was an injected head

dont know much about the 1fz apart that they go like a scolded cat but drink the juice whilst they do it

My 1HD-T has got a A440f fitted, pretty sure it is original even though the build tag say different.
Cheers

Thanks for the input, after more research it looks like some of the plumbing was modified to fit the different engines but they still seem to work OK.
