FS FJ45 chassis and running gear

Post by Heath »

Surplus to my requirements.

Will sell in bits if it helps. Put in an order and I'll remove it for you.

AVM hubs
45 tray
front and rear axles
Chassis
Have 1 fibreglass fender to exchange for a steel one too.

All the rest of the body stuff I want to keep and some of the mounts/bits, but havent made my mind up about the fuel tank yet (might use the donor chassis tank).

Willing to swap for body parts (not kidneys or first borns, but fenders and doors or bits I can use to repair the foot wells/roof).

Has 5 triple track tyres (think thats the correct name for them).

One is a bit cracked and keeps going flat but the others look okay.

If you buy the diffs I'll chuck em in for free

Will swap bits for some body bits.

Looking for the mechanism and wipers from a bottom of screen mounted system.
I need some head light mounts (the bits the lights sit in and are then adjusted to point in the right direction).
I need some panel steel to do repairs too.
I need a straight std front bumper and maybe some rear tail lights would be good too.
I will need to borrow a transporter trailer too to pick up my hq chassis.

SANTA if you are watching, just drop any bits on the tray of the wreck out back of the house, but for god sake dont let the missus see you do it or make it look obvious theres more stuff there.

$400 and the whole lot is yours.

Rolling chassis that is. Looks like it has a power steer box on it too (I might have mis identified it though as I dont know what to look for.

I'll swap for some holden parts, wheels and tyres just to get my new chassis rolling and a power steering box for a WB ute. Also looking for a th350 transmission crossmember, rear drum brakes (or disk setup for leaf springs), u bolts and mounting plates to mount the rear axle and fuel tank for WB too.

Or some $$$ and holden parts - Lets do a deal.

an old leafsprung fj45 chassis with a semi floater rear end in it is a pretty dead market, it would be easier to get rid of and you'd probably make more out of it listing the 2 diff heads and front axles/CVs on TM and taking all the rest of the shit down to the scrappie to exchange for some cash

Without going for a look I think they are both offset to the drivers side.

Hows $120 sound?

Will have to wait until Friday when My Trade me Auction expires but come Saturday/Sunday...

If the chassis/etc dont sell then the axle is yours if you want it.

I Like your style mate

More fun for me (and more $$$) if I break it up for parts.

Oh and its not a power steering box (just std 'armstrong' sorry), I decided to check it properly before advertising.

Possibly the dumbest thing I've said. :?
Having to cut most of the bolts etc

5 x dunlop 750x16 triple traction tyres on rims - $60 - average condition 6-10mm tread one definately flat spare may be flat and three others fine. Looks like three are retreads.

fuel tank - $25

Front axle (rear is already spoken for) $120

Armstrong Steering gear (will go with the front axle unless snapped up first) - $25

front springs and on rear - $20 for the three (I'll throw in the plates too).

Chassis still intact (apart from the spare wheel brackets) - $100

PM for details

Chassis seems to be in good nick considering the crap stuck in the rails (last chance if anyone wants one, $80 and its yours - minus running gear of course - offer open till next weekend when I buy some more cutting discs).

I'll get some cutting discs and "remove" the U bolts. Threads are buggered so they are junk.

Will be good to motivate me into cutting this up once and for all.

Just have to pile it all up out of the way until I get a WoF for the trailer (bloody things - maybe they should make them 3 years like the new cars).

Anyone recommend someone on the westside of chch (hornby ish) to buy my scrap steel?

Axle out (fark its heavy on your own) and wheels in a pile.

chassis and front axle still there. AVM manual hubs still there too (buy the hubs get a free front axle).

Grinder gave up the ghost today. Brgs are stuffed I think (making a huge racket) and the push lock thingee is buggered so its time for a new one (yep that means a cheap one... ).
