2" Body Lift LWB vitara
2" Body Lift LWB vitara
Im a new member to the site and have just purchased a 1994 vita 5 door. Have a set of 31's ill be fitting, wanting to do 2" suspension and 2" body lift. Does anyone have the dimensions for the body lift, sizes of blocks, washers bolts etc. Am wanting to make my own body lift, and thought i'd ask if anyone has dimensions, if not ill just lay under and have a bit of a measure up
Re: 2" Body Lift LWB vitara
Whereabouts in the country are you ? Might be easier to pop round to someone's place who has done the lift and have a look.
Basically 50mm diameter UHMWPE will work fine to use as lift blocks, other people have used 50mm square steel tube, some rednecks have used blocks of wood.
The biggest problem is getting hold of sufficient tensile strength "female" bolts since the studs sticking out of the body are not long enough to accommodate a 2" lift.
While you are doing the lift you will have to keep an eye on the fuel filler hose, steering shaft, brake lines etc.

Also, I don't think a 2" body lift is enough to fit 31" wheels without them rubbing on the guards, someone else may be able to confirm or deny.
Re: 2" Body Lift LWB vitara
Will be doing 2" body 2" suspension, Im in waipu, pretty much whangarei. If someone had a new set that i could get measurements off? I will be making the out of some type of plastic, have access to a lathe and material

The body lift blocks are easy enough, was looking at making them like these
http://www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/vitara ... od_56.html
Where the top is the shape of the standard rubber mount, just been cheeky and seeing if someone has measurements, bolt lengths, thread etc

Re: 2" Body Lift LWB vitara
I haven't seen the ones where the top is shaped like the rubber mount before, seems like a great idea if it stops the squeaks. You would have to make out of polyurethane I would imagine.
Unfortunately I think you may be out of luck, best to remove one of the rubbers and use it as a pattern.
Post some pics of your results, you may be able to sell a few.
