Hi all,

Recently sold the prado and bought a 96 double cab 2.5 Turbo diesel L200.
I am loving having a manual again and it seems to go well enough off road, kept up with a v6 surf on 33s.
It has an LSD rear but is kind of weak, what oil would you recommend when I change the diff oil?
What is the fuel use meant to be like? fuel gauge is a bit spastic so am just trying to get a figure to go by to see if the gauge will even out.
Truck is reasonably quick too, or maybe I just need to get used to driving something that isnt an auto 2lte
Am thinking it would benefit from an intercooler and a little more boost, is there any setup that bolts straight to these engines (4d56t I believe)?
What modifications would you guys suggest? It had 32s before I got it but they didn't come with the truck, tried my prado rims on it and they gave it a 2-3 inch offset beyond the standard mitsi ones.
I'm thinking of making a cage for the back, not a rollcage by any means, more sort of a bar canopy that I will eventually get a canvas cover made for. I want this so that I can sleep in the back with the mrs if we go away for a night and not have to worry about taking a tent, but I also want to mount hi-lift and shovel on it plus spare tire, maybe spare to swing out on tthe back?
It needs a transfer case output seal (front output) and a rear transfercase/gearbox mount as the mount is completely worn and has now lost the nut, making it rattle around and generally F%$k me off, especially at idle.
A mate of mine is hopefully going to weld me up a stainless snorkel which will make 4wding a lot less worry free.

Cheers all,
Sorry for the big writeup 8)

Gidday, You need an intercooler and piping off a pajero,93 model or thereabouts, along with the inlet manifold,2 types one is larger, try and get the larger one, fitting is straight forward apart from intercooler frame needs mods, but simple enough. The fan under intercooler may not fit,it will hit injector plumbing, bin it,You will need a bonnet scoop and a hole in bonnet as well(saas from supercheap is good match). Wind you boost to 13 psi. After that 5 bolt dump and a straight thru 2.5 exhaust and you ll be 30 %plus gruntier.
