Buying Advice: Mazda Proceed/ Mitsi Pajero

Post by Mckev »

Hey there, I am looking at a newer model Mazda Proceed, a '96 with the 2.5 Diesel Engine.

Any thoughts? Is it likely to the TD version? It seems like a better priced alternative to some other smaller 4wds. Mostly to be used as a daily driver, with a few fishing and hunting trips, which is why I want something with a bit of off road capability and ground clearance (getting to river and beaches etc).

I also had a wee look at a 94' Pajero LWB with the 2.8td engine, it looks heavier but a bit more capable. Also, the 2.8 td is better than the 2.5 isn't it?

Cheers

Nick

Alright cheers. I guess the only thing to keep in mind is that I'll be doing more open road driving than offroad, I roughly have a 16km round trip daily.

Also I thought those pajero's had good ground clearance...

Can't go wrong with a Pajero, just avoid GDI petrols.

love my pajero. it's a 3.0v6.
kinda wish I went for the 2.8 diesel but for the amount I drive it these days the fuel consumption doesn't matter so much.
great ground clearance on 31s.
front end is solid as.
has been reliable as anything.

Yeah that second one was the one I was eyeing up. Unless someone else has better for for around 5-6k? I was also looking at a few 95-96 Terranos, 2.7td's.
