Offroad-Express

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about repowering my 92 surf 2.4 diesel turbo auto with a motor from a landcruiser or a dyna , thinking about a 3.4 diesel .
all comments and suggestion's welcome ...

is it offroad only, daily driver ?? etc

easiest conversion is L series engine. 3l or 5l. next pick would be 1kz but needs engine mounts changing which runs into certification etc.

on issue will be transmission. if you keep stock auto its ecu controlled and works with a few sensors on the engine. some engines may not have the sensors.

what are you trying to gain with the repower, I know those 2.4's arent really knowen for having much poke but neither are the 89hp 3b diesel boat anchors? Its a lot of money and work for not a lot of gain?
