Second hand Tyres get a Spruce Up

Ive been driving around on my Kumo mud tyres for the last few months and although overall it rides good (apart from noise which never bothered me) I decided that I wanted to save the tread and have those aside for dedicated mud wheels/tyres, so I set about looking for some HT or AT tyres to go on the factory 16" my zook come with.
I ended up bidding on a set of 16" 225/70/16 A/T tyres and picked them up the next day and had them fitted.
Anyway, This is the first set of tyres ive had which have the white lettering on the tyre wall and even after a real good scrub and wash down with wheel cleaner, they were still looking pretty average.

I looked around on youtube and there are tones of vids with people selling white/red/yellow pens for making them look new again, but i ended up finding one where a guy just recommended getting a peice of 320 wet sanding paper and giving the letters a quick rub.
It actually worked really well, I used a bucket of water with some car wash in it and went to work.....heres the end result.

I know some people might say that its a 4x4 and its not meant to look detailed, but when mines not getting muddy, i like to make it look good on the road and keep it clean.
Have a go, let me know how you get on if you try it

I always found a good scrub with Jiff (original or lemon scented) and a brush cleaned up tyres and white lettering very well.

Yeah that makes sence now you mention it, ill give that ago next time i see them dirty again, the sanding was good to get it back to prestine, but prob dont want to keep sanding and end up with no letters
