Hi all, I have just bought a 92 high roof Safari with the TD42/auto, and I was wondering what the tow rating is for it? The plan is for some trips with the family down the beach, plus as a tow wagon for our boat. Have tried google, but cant seem to find anything. There isnt a stamp/sticker on the towbar either. Also any advice on setting them up for towing would be appreciated.

Install the biggest auto trans cooler you can fit in the front. These transmissions last about 250k on average before needing overhaul. The biggest killer for them is heat. the factory cooler is not up to the task for towing.
Google torque converter lock up as well. makes a huge difference when towing. From memory there is a good write up on the aussie patrol forum.
