Hi all, and happy new year!
Long time reader, first time caller.
I have just bought myself (well the mrs to be honest) a 94 LWB 1.6 16v Vitara.
Pretty stoked with it!
Plan at this stage is to do a SMALL lift, get some 235/75/15 and play around a bit.
Question is, will V6 Grand Vitara springs fit and will they give a small lift?
I am hoping to get a 1" - 1.5" lift, dont want more at this stage because Im not ready to do spacers and drop brackets etc....
What year GV springs? I will also do the strut top flip in the front and get some slightly longer shocks for the back.
Hopefully be sweet!
Cheers in advance

Hi there, An welcome
Firstly to answer your question, I'm unsure if Grand Vitara spring will fit, if they did you still want to extend your shocks as from my small experence there what help keep your wheels on the ground, in return giving you more traction.
I would suggest if your after a bit of cheap lift too use bits4vits in the UK, as there service is great, an thay only take a week for your parts to arrive from my experience.
This link should point you in the right direction:

yes they will fit. I had them in mine, gave it about 1-2" lift. coupled with VL shocks or I used Renault 19 rear shocks to give more flex and made a spacer up for the A-arm.
Spacer wasn't necessary though really. I also bought a drive-shaft spacer from winch.co.nz too.
The springs will fit from any LWB Vitara the same shape as yours. so 89-98 I believe.
Also worth doing the strut cap flip as well as that helps the front down travel a bit and keeps the front strut sitting in the same place with the lift.
oh and welcome along

Thanks for the advise guys.
Lincooln. Mine is LWB 1.6L. Should I use 89-98 LWB 2L V6 springs, or 98 onward GV?
There is a 99 2.5L V6 GV on trademe being wrecked so if they fit I was gonna try and get the springs from that.

The GV springs give even more lift, google it. Vitara V6 LWB give around between 1"-2" which sounds like what you want.

If they're the red ones they are from cobra springs. They're to lift a LWB V6 50mm. The rear springs should work ok but the front ones are designed for the heavier V6, might be a bit much lift..

You could always cut a coil or two out of the front springs too help accommodate

Thanks very much guys.
I appreciate you all helping to sort it!
Yeah weemsy I think they mite lift it a bit to much. Il keep my eye out for some factory v6 springs or I mite go and get some lift springs for the 1.6.
If anyone out there has some stock lwb v6 springs, Im keen!
Cheers all
