Cargo barriers

I have been searching on trade me for months looking for an XJ cargo barrier but with no luck. Tried contacting a few retailers/distributors and if they can do them it is around the $600 mark.
Does anyone know if cargo barriers for other vehicles will fit without too much modification? I saw in Aussie jeep forum that some were making commodore cargo barriers fit with a bit of effort. Any feedback greatly received.

have you tried prices off ebay etc?
youd be supprised at the deals available from the u.s for jeep and that sorta truck.

I've got some of that strapping from the dude that was selling it on here a while back. Need to measure up the Jeep and make a net. Would be a cool little project!
But yea, i'm always looking on eBay and other US sites and come across some fairly cheap stuff. I've just ordered a set of front speaker adapters for my TJ Wrangler and was something like $14 shipping

Would the nets be strong enough? We mostly use the jeep for camping and touring around so conscious of kids in back seat getting hit by stuff....although sometimes...(just kidding)
Never thought of eBay due to shipping and organizing that.

I have seen those before instore, wasn't sure if they would be strong enough, although I guess if they stop a dog flying forwards they should stop camping equipment etc?

If you on a bumpy road or after a while just on normal road they will self adjust and become loose. i dont think it would suit as a cargo barrier.

I think I would feel more comfortable knowing the kids are sitting in front of a cargo barrier as opposed to a dog barrier. Seems like smaller objects could still fit through the gaps in a pet barrier.
