just finished the commodore v6 swap into the truck been driving around for a couple months now with no problems and loving the power but just today i noticed a funny smell in the cab that smelled like coolant so i pulled over and looked under the bonnet all seemed normal so hoped back in and drove another couple ks down the road the smell got more potent and i couldnt figure it out, so tried turning the heater on and she started to drip coolant onto my feet so it must have a hole in the heater core?
question is how hard is it to remove and replace it? or am i better just bypassing it and forget the heater( not ideal)?
any help from some one with experience would be swell.

Ive had the dashes and heater boxes out of 20 odd vehicles. Havent done a 70 series but have done 130 surfs and 100 series cruisers. You just have to pull everything out as the heater box is the first thing to go in against the firewall.
Is really a piece of piss just takes hours.
Some vehicles the heater core can slide out of the heater box in place but doubt would be the case with a 78

thanks will wait till have a good afternoon spare before i dig into it.... yea fuel econ is good when i dont have my foot on the floor, great power cant wait to get it into the mud or sand. would def recommend the conversion for anyone looking for more reliable power and at this stage i havnt spent any more then i would have if i replaced the head on the old 1kz. and thanks for all your help.
