New Project.... "Project Freebee"

Started putting the pieces together for next project :roll:

didn't really want to do it but things keep landing on me

Got given a Surf with a blown 2lt and a dodgy auto from one mate and I've just been given a going EA faclon with a 4L SOHC from a guy I'm working for so figured why not

Don't know anything about the motor, anybody played with these from the look of it, its running a single point injection throttle body...

My last Falcon was a 1962 ute and I don't think they had the injection on them? :oops:

if its an ea falcon it will have the 3.9 engine which are as reliable as the 2l-t
if it has the 4litre engine which came out mid 1992 it should be allright. the 3.9 ford cracked heads reguarly, put a trailer on it and see how hot it gets.
it might be cheaper to sell the whole lot and buy a hilux with a lexus or 3.8 v6 have seen a few on trade me recently for not much money.

Na.... I build things for the challange and for fun and it means I get what I want, not what the guy who built it did

And its not like I need another truck :lol:

Hey is there anything I can do to "pep" these things up ??? :twisted:

Ps the reason I get given these "toys" is becouse my place looks lke a junk yard due to different projects :roll:

I've been a falcon man for years, love the old grumbly beasts...

But even I'm the first to admit, those 3.9's were CRAP!! Fine as a car, but like mudchuka said, just dont tow with them.......... and as that's pretty much what you do with a falcon, (tow), they lost alot of friends over that dog of a motor.... known for oil leaks too :oops:

I was warned off them by my mate (a ford trained mechanic!!), but the 4.0 sorted all the problems out :wink:

so if it is a 4.0, go for it dude!!! They're around (depending on year) 180-210HP, and 330-350nM of torque, so they pull like horney school boys...... :twisted:

Go for it, you can do it Nickey!!! Kick him in the balls!!!!! :shock:

Oh yeah, as for pepping them.... I've seen a STOCK (yes, stock) XE 4.1 with a garret T66 and intercooler putting out 348KW!!!!!!! (I'll find the vid and try post it :twisted:

Reece, I'll go along with Goose - it would be a head ache engine in a 4wd unless you want to cane it for a couple days, blow it up then park under the trees

The MPI 4.0lt engine tho, would be a good transplant - get a free one of those

Im reeeeeeeally wanting to get hold of one of these in the future. i think it would be awesome in a 4wd.

Wonder if I can accidently writeoff the missus car and buy it back for the engine :twisted:
