After wondering why my tires were rapidly disappearing (less than 6-7000k over half worn) i fitted freewheeling hubs to my disco, and when in open center diff position, i still had drive, hmmm, center diff toast, well xmas trip 1 weeks worth of driving later, I decided today to investigate what the issue was, pulled the transfer case off the back of the gear box and stripped, the center diff, is well, fuked, and thinking back has been since I got it, it used to "bang" when turning tight corners, but never had any drive issues or transfer slipping so to speak. so never bothered to look further

made some good progress on the prado in the last week .done a hundred "2 minute " jobs which as we all know normally take about an hour each .Went to nitro circus last night which was good but think that the show 2 years ago was better.Back out in the garage this morning and after a few hiccups managed to breath some life into the engine :D :D :D very happy about this.Still lots of little "2 minute" jobs to do but now the end is in sight .Taking the kids to the river for a swim soon as a sort of thank you for leaving me alone to get some garage time .Took a quick vid on my old camera which is a bit crap but will do a better one when its running a bit smoother Image

went up woodhill today, very dry up there in fact i'v never seen it that dry,,still had a good day and only damage for me was a cracked front indicator,as for caleb well he managed to bend his drag link so much it hit the bottom crank pully  straighted it up a bit and drove it home :) had a couple of other guys with us one in a lwb petrol safari/patrol(flat tyre)and a swb bighorn(factory flare fell off)we all enjoyed the day and we all drove home so that's a good day in my books.bring on the rain :!:

Mounted the big horn intercooler onto the terry, still have some little bits and pieces to do, but have got enough room to squeeze a fan underneath in the near future :D

Headed to Muriwai and went for a surf, then went for a bit of a drive to show the other guys the beach. Ended up pulling three people out of the soft stuff.

One was all good, just shouldn't of been in there by himself, got some beers (for the passengers) and some petrol money.

But for the other two.. I got there and they were trying to recover a Holden Captiva with a Terreno from the tow ball with a tow strap, no strop, no recovery points. No digging had been done and they managed to belly the Terreno from trying to pull it out. So lots of digging and a bleeding head later (Terrano and my head disagreed) managed to get them both out. Did have to pull the Captiva with the hand break on, since he forgot to take it off  Got them back to the beach, one beer for all of us and about it, not very great-full at all and worst of all, dunk. Was very tempted a few times to just leave them, but if they were trying to recover from a tow ball, who knows what could have happened..

So eventful day that Saturday, Sunday was just a headache day, whether due to the "few" beers Saturday night or Saturday's antics :P

Didn't do much this weekend...
Put the 80 series springs in the rear of the playdoh.
Put some softer springs in the front...
Now it sits a little lower...(much better)
Fitted the centre console back in after its repaint and put the radio back in...
Had a chat and a coffee with Monstr...
And dinner at the olds....

Now if only I had a gear box I would be able to test it.

I suspect some one has been using it off road without engaging the centre diff lock.

Trimmed guards sat to fit the Simexs, fitted up temporary mud flap/flares. Had my stag do Sunday. Got told we were going round a farm for activities (4wding) but just went through the farm to get to the beach. So had the Simex's on, was a bit annoyed, but oh well. Still had a good time. Ended up with 8psi in the tyres, didnt go too bad really. Thought i was going to be a massive liability, but didnt get stuck. Had a bit of fun pretending to be a rockcrawler too. Bit of exploring, fishing and BBQ on the beach. Mint day.

Yep so shinys will only be this side of ditch, will split the tuff/club trucks
across there, as we have around the hazards a number of them split but will still be challaging for them.
