as per the conversation in another thread on thurs/Fri I suggested my 80 could be for sale. And due to the 5 interested parties PM's on friday arvo, and 'cause the wife says so... it IS for sale.
I've had it since June, done a few trips Hamilton to Hokianga. Bought it with the intent of using it for a tow wagon for my LR bush truck, but Im figuring thats its pretty much in permanent residence in the far north now. Using the 80 3 x a year to A frame the LR around up there isnt really justifiable.
Whats done??? Seemingly everything theyre chronic for has been remedied. Steering box strengthened/braced, two tranny coolers plumbed in, quintessential door/windscreen water ingress sorted.
Its locked front and rear. 8 seater (took em out to make room, but are with the vehicle. Running boards (Buhling factor!). 4 alloy rims with 31s. Spare is standard rim. Engine and tranny replaced approx 100k ago by previous owner who had it for years as a tow vehicle for his horses.
Interior could do with tidy up if your fastidious about such things, but its what i term "acceptable", its done over 400k. theres a couple of issues with the paint, as shown in the following pics. Bumper corners need re-securing properly (another one of "those 80 series things"). No aircon (seems previous owner didnt put pump in with engine change).
Put new steering dampner in when i got it. Got WOF December last year with no issues. Has about 1500k on RUC left. Reg just ran out but will sort that later this week
Mechanically goes goes great, comfy as to drive and plenty of grunt (moreso than what I EVER expected from a diesel, start at the bottom of the Bombays at 110km and finish at the top at 110km.. couldnt say that about of the Jeeps Ive owned)
