1kz Injector change

Post by fweddy »

Any particular tips on injector change in 1kz.

I've replaced my cooked engine in my 94 Surf with another and its running good but getting a bit of black out the back. I had recently done the injector tips on the old engine so I'm going to look at swapping them over to the new engine. I'll be checking for any heat damage (blueing) on the injectors after the overheating. But hoping they are still all good.

Any tips, tricks or traps for working on the injectors and swapping these over?
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

watch the return rail hold the injector when you undo the nut sometime it turs the whole unit and breaks the rail otherwise pretty simple
