Hey folks,

Just a quick question, being trying to find a safari high steer kit but beleive they may not exist?

anyone have any clues?

already tried google to no avail....

why for you need high steer on a safari,

are you converting ya truck to leaf springs ?

not it would be a mod to allow me to run a terrano diffhead in the front housing, easy way to get 4.6 ratio.

there is method in my madness lol

Guys in oz have made them to flatten out panhard angles, and move the stupidly low tie rod, but whether it's worth the hassle and expense? Probably not, otherwise they would be in production by now I guess

well thats true.

i just read the 160 series patrol knukles fit on a y60/y61 axle, and brings all the steering to the front.

but hmmm, not sure about it yet.

are high pinion diffs stronger than low pinion?

would it be worth converting rear terrano diff to high pinion to reduce drive shaft angles?

So its time to ressurect this thread (and the truck).

Certifier had a quick look over the truck, all looks good apart from a few minor things.

So Heres the List:

Exhaust (cracks, leaking from flexi etc) thinking of going for 3 inch.

handbrake (bloody terrano's) and some brackets need adjusting (for lift)

tierod (bit that joins both hubs together for steering) needs straightend

Sill Damage (not sure about this yet, grey area)

bigger tyres, need some proper mt's

and i think thats about it.

what you need to do mate is to go and finish off what you started a couple of years ago the things no good to you when its sitting unfinished parked up on Mums back lawn, sort out those piss easy bits on your list then get the thing back into the certifier and get it all signed off, road legal, warrented and registered and all that shit so you can use it then go get some seat time and have some fun learning how to drive it and what you and the truck are capable of and then you'll have a much better idea of what other modifications you do or dont need to do to it in the future, theres no point planning a whole pile more shit to do when you havent been able to complete the first lot of modifications


its a lot more fun playing in your truck than playing on the internet

up in whangarei follow this winch chop safari with a rear diff head in the front axle, with lowered tie rod,for some reason welded ball joints in, they blew out on a down hill fast run, f**k that idea

Just making sure ive got everything sorted before cert.

unfortunatly ive been trying to get the funds to complete it, but the bighorn just aint selling, and its hard to get the funds for hobbies when ya got bills to pay.

For the front yes when going forward, no good in the back going forward.
