Given Terreno is Italian for dirt/ground I'd say this is a lift kit.

you can do a body lift relatively cheaply but you'd still have to get it certified if its a road legal truck so your probably going to end up spending $700-$800 for a certified body lift. Cost of a suspension lift is dependant on what componants you buy and what brands, you can go and spend $1000 or $1500 on new springs and shocks and not really achieve much in the way of additional lift height due to the IFS front end, you can wind the front end up a bit but your not increasing overall travel your just removing down travel and putting your cvs at more of an angle meaning the cvs will break easier. You can do a small lift no prob but it could cost a bit for not a lot of gain for your $$$

Only way to do a lift is to put a solid axle under it, otherwise your just making lots of issues.
by the time youve spent the money on making it stronger and higher, it would pay for a SAS.

terrano's are lighter, but just as strong.
also engine can produce some good figures. only need to get an intercooler to make it purr.

no there not terrenos are terrenos and Safaris are safaris, terranos break gearboxs diffs and steering and Safaris dont, not knocking terranos at all just pointing out the're nowhere near the strength of a safari unless you've ripped out all the weak bits and put safari shit under them

Which is what i was refering too, terrano's without a sas are weak.
apart from the engine and rear end.

Agree Saddam ^^^^^
T1 stock (no lifts at all 31x11.5 Mickey's)

T2 2 inch body, 2 inch spring lift, torsions hardly touched (32x9.5 simexs)

T3 still in the conception stage
Cheers,

Lifts only needed to get bigger rubber under them a little bit more rear travel. Same could be achieved with a virtual body lift that won't need cert.

fair call, you dont agree with my posts, I may not agree with yours. but, "terrano's are just as strong"? having read your breakage list to someone that drives a patrol/safari in similar terrain, I find that hard to agree with?

I was refering to a terrano with a solid axle swap....
Didnt word it properly. and no im not refering to my truck, im refering to anyone thats done a Sas on a terrano/navara.
passenger petes for example. ive been told by several 4x4 enthusiests that it is a really solid build.
i know how much it cost me to get it lifted 2 inches, and a 2 inch body lift. i went through a fair bit of parts due to breaking etc. i spent about the same getting a solid axle under mine, as what it cost me in broken parts and the lifting gear.
And if your gunna call me zukmeista? well, go hard, i know where hes coming from now.

Philip121 you're hilarious
Say you lift a Terrano 2.5" susp properly with control arms, 2" bodylift (which lets face it they should have had from the factory), then upgrade the steering to compensate for the increased tierod/centerlink angles.
So thats just shy of 5" combined, and w/correct backspacing still stable due to the low height/wide design of the terry.
SWB Safari - freaking awesome machine - but I'm told 3" susp lift is plenty for a SWB, otherwise you run into stability problems, and they dont like body lifts too much.
So purely based on lift potential the Terry has a lot going for it IMO

The Terrano won't handle running bigger tyres like the Safari will, no point having 5inch lift and running 32's/33's where 35's will fit with a 3inch lift and a guard chop and won't break front end components all the time.

Torsion crank + nothing else = problems down the line.
4" Trailmaster lift + 2" body = 35x10.5 reliably with CVs straight.
2wd steering mod + dummy idler + V6 CVs = on par with Gen 2 Pajero IFS strength
They're certainly not idiot proof and dont respond to brute force like Safaris. But they have tonnes of scope for modification/strength, Maybe thats why seem they appeal to tinkerers/engineering types.
