Hi guys,
Just an idea here, I can obtain a tidy '01 Terrano with a dead ZD30DDti and a crashed '97 with a low k's QD32ETi (both auto), for a pretty good price (cheaper than a reasonable condition 96-98 by itself). Anyone have any idea how much of a straight forward swap it would be to put the QD32 into the newer truck? I pressume I would need to swap the engine loom+ecu and the bellhousing at a minimum.. but other than that does anyone know if it would work relatively easily? Mounts at a guess would be in the same place. Or would it be worth my while trying to get the '01 by itself and rebuild/replace the ZD30?

Any help/info would be much appreciated. Would like a newer truck, but have seen so many horror stories about the ZD30, I'm kindof limited to pre '98 with the QD32 engine otherwise.

There is an outfit in kaiapoi near christchurch http://www.kaiapoirepowers.co.nz/services/ that specialises in doing this. Part of the subframe needs to be transferred from the QD32 truck into the Z30 truck as well to get the mounts sorted. I heard it costs some where in the region of 4-5K including motor and certification -limp in drive out.

QD32 + 3 door nissan mistral. that thing would be nuts

try a nissan forum possibly an OZ one for more detailed info, Diff ratios n box prob different, at a guess the QD will have the pick of the drive train / more so the box and front diff but may be wrong. Qd32s + t are the ducks nuts in my book (its a small book) Navara asia? or something similar is full of good info on many nissan 4cyl's

How bout the QD running gear into a cheap ass d21?? (bolts into the td mounts - use the td fuel pump and ditch the fly by wire? eti stuff - you may get the r200 front diff

Can I jack this thread a minute and ask how you bypass the fly by wire and ETi stuff when putting a TD pump on a QD?

I am toying with the idea of replacing the TD in my 95 ranno for a QD.

Basically the guy wants $6k for both the rolled '97 and the '01 with the blown ZD30.. so if its a matter of bolting bits from 1 to the other and certing without having to make much custom stuff it could be well worth doing. I figured the engine crossmember/subframe would need to be swapped to get the right engine mounts
