LPG consumption on TB42

Post by yael »

Hi,

does any one have a rough idea on how many Km i should get in a SWB Patrol running a carbureted TB42 on LPG?

Im currently getting 300km on aprox 70L of LPG and it seems to make no difference if i drive like a nana or like i've just stolen it..

also how much difference would it make if i was to upgrade to a fuel injected TB42 on LPG?

Cheers

Thats 22/23 ltrs/100k at rockgas prices equals $25/26
That is a fair price as a normal petrol consumtion would be around 15/17 ltrs/100k equals $31/34
Biggest issue is capacity you either need to swap your 70ltr tank for a 120ltr or install a second tank
Compared to diesel which use around 13/16ltrs/100k at current prices is about $20/24+ road tax
Diesel has a bit more touque but the petrol has a heap more HP just at a little higher rpm

If you mean getting a tb42e, then running the same lpg setup- almost no difference.
If you mean ditch the lpg mixer, and get lpg injectors, then yea gains could be made. I'm thinking if you look around some australian forums you might get some good answers, as petrol patrols much more common over there than here..
