Moved to Christchurch, need help.

Post by a80crewza »

Hi all. I have moved to chch for a bit to work.

Also need advice/help with something. Recently had the turbo taken out and put back in and now have an oil leak. The guy must not have tightened it all back up properly.. Thinking the leak is coming from the oil return pipe?

Is it a hassle of a job? Can anyone help me with locating this and fixing this?

Cheers.

The return pipes are prone to cracking when removed but also the metal gasket between the pipe and block are crap also and are better replace with the fibre ones.

Make sure your truck is under lock and key and is alarmed , a gps tracker would be useful ...

it is a bit of a hassle as the feed and drain both run into the bottom of the turbo. If you have a body lift it does make it easier to get to but it is still not that hard. Genuine replacement ones are what you want so go see toyota. Last i heard they are about 200ish. If you know how to use a spanner and have a bit of free time i would do it yourself. Its not hard but fiddly and much cheaper to do if you can do it yourself. The hardest bit is undoing the banjo bolt for the oil feed on the block. It is stuck between the block and the dump pipe
