I was just wondering what solutions you guys have come up with to fix this problem, where the needle bends and contacts the face of the speedo and binds. I have removed mine a few times, heated it and straightened it, but it soon does it again. Daily temps here usually average 35, 50 in a locked car.
Are there any similar steel ones? Sooner or later, I'm going to heat it up too much and it'll turn to a melted lump of plastic.

I replaced my needles with those of a slightly different shape, that don't bend (from a primera). Pretty much any old cluster that you can get hold of cheap can be made to work.
Also have seen ends of needles cut off, so as it bends it doesn't touch backing. Makes it harder to see where needles pointing tho.
If you can, leave windows cracked open when parked up. Lets interior heat out, so not so hard on plastics. Also nicer when you get back in the wagon

Go to Spotlight craft section and look at clock kits, may find one there that will fit your spindle.
