Hey all
Took my d21 out last night to drop a welder off and noticed the light on the shock absorber button had gone out and no effect when it is flicked between sport and comfort.
Its really really spongy now.
Any ideas were to start looking?

New shocks. Surprised they even worked after 20 something years
First system i disable when doing a D21. There are some tests that can be done in the manual to check the system or the shocks themselves.
Cheers,

I replaced them with a set of 2nd hand working items as the ones that were on there weren't factory
How do I test the system?

Agree, cute gimmick back in 1987 but otherwise stupid

Thanks for that, Josh. Saves me trawling through manual, re-sizing, uploading and linking
If the shocks are stuffed, don't waste your money on secondhand ones. Save up and get some decent shocks that will last. Just 2c, not flaming
Cheers,

Got a brand you recommend? I can get maxi-trac shock absorbers for about $470 a set including GST

I have a 1992 Terrano with the original electronically controlled shocks and they still work

If that is for four, then a mean price. I have used Old Man Emu, EFS and Rancho before all with mixed results. If budget is an issue then go for the cheaper ones. Personally I prefer the
HEAVY DUTY EFS for longevity and performance with the punishment I dish out
Cheers,

Yeah they don't look bad. I'd say that is just a generic picture as the shocks shown are not the right ends for your application

Ironman are just an aussie brand and all the same stuff will be identical to other different branded parts.
50mm lift torsion bars is a bit misleading. IFS can't do 50mm lift without resting on the top bump stops.
Stay with local suppliers.
Here is the listing for EFS. 36-5562 are the shiz for the rear and 36-5535 for the front with boots of course.
