Long story short pulled the right front calliper of the safari tonight as it was sticking. Clamped the brake line to stop air going up.
Put it all back together, prefilled the calliper with fluid, bolted all back together. Jumped in truck pumped the pedal few times hop out to see if its push piston out and nope!?!.
No matter how hard or how many times i pumped the bloody pedal the piston wont move. . Can move piston with fingers. Undo bleed nut and push pedal and fliud fires out. Do it up as normal and pump pedal and nothing???

Is this telling me the master cyilinder is shot? Was working mint as before. Only thing that changed is the calliper coming off and on.
wife is taking truck to chch on friday so need to get sorted
Any help/advice will be muchly appreciated.

Also am taking trailer upto chch on the 22nd and coming home on the 1st april if anyone needs stuff taken up or brought down

Despite your best efforts, air may of been introduced to the caliper. Try a 2 person bleed.

Cheers,

May not be co-incidence. The piston usually operates in the top part of master cylinder. After pulling calliper apart, the piston would stroke further than usual- possibly into a rough patch in cylinder.
Something not often a problem, but can happen.
Good you got it fixed,
Nath
