Hey guys, I need a 7.25" front (Jtop) and an 8" rear (some Gen 1 2.3TD, some delica star wagons and i have no idea what else?)
anyone know where I can get some 5.285 crown and pinions?

gen 1 pajero 2.3TD and delica wagon. was it.
and reading up on some US sites it would appear that particular diff wasn't in production long.
see "hens teeth."

yeah, unfortunately.
the fronts are still available new ex Japan, and i think one of the 2 variations of the 8" rear are also, the other is sold out

Different part numbers, but interchangeable. Both used in the front of gen2 for ratio swaps.
ill ring every wrecker there is, then give in and fork out for the cost of new ones IF i have to

Edit: the 8" rear are used in the front of Gen 1 V6 (8") Not Gen 2, (LP vs HP)

I have a gen 1 2.3 td here but I have no idea what diffs are in it, I can have a look tomorrow maybe. It is a SWB though so i doubt it is 5.29.
Are you going real large in tyre size? You'd be better off changing transfer gears in my opinion and sticking with your diffs.

Be interesting to see what you have. Im guessing its in a the car you use? not one your wrecking for me

I think it may have only been the Australian 2.3TD that had them?
The iO has 4.875 std, thats fine for the standard 27" tyres. but I have 31" on it now and its far to gutless, Im putting the 1.944 low range from a pajero into it, and maybe the 2.85 from Marks oneday. (standard is 1.54)
But I want to go to 33" and there is NO way 4.875 cut it with the iO. some guys are running 32" but the fuel econ is very bad and forget about a 110 kph interstate trip, unless its all down hill with a tail wind

. 5.285 will restore the original drive speeds with 31" tyres, with 33" tyres 5.285 will be almost the same as my 31" on the 4.875, not ideal, but livable if used in conjunction with lower low range.

Nice, does the io have 8 inch rear? I thought it might have been 7,25, same as the front but no sure.
Will the paj gear physically fit in the io transfer case?
I haven't had a look at the paj yet, it's not an everyday vehicle but it does still go. It's the fencing wagon on the farm with no windscreen, roof and 35in Simex's on it!

Nice!
35s.. must be 5.285

got any pics?
Yes the iO is an 8" rear, and HP (high pinion) 7.25" front. dont know of anyone thats done the 5.285 swap into the front before, so we are still not 100% sure if will fit. the 4.875 front has a diferent part number to the pajeros. but that may be because its 1999 to 2007, or 2013 in Brazil! where as the 7.25" pajero diffs stopped in 92 was it?
Yes the gen 1 and 2 low range gears fit into the io transfer case, I went with the 1.944 from the gen 1, others prefer the 1.925 of the gen2 as you only need 2 gears not 3, makes for an easier swap. One guy has put the 2.85 marks gears in his iO. requires some grinding of a selector fork to fit and welding up and enlarging the housing, but its working

Speaking of "Hens teeth" i bit the bullet and went straight for some 5.86 ratio instead.
Problem is i forgot about the high vs low pinion thing.
If anyone wants them for a gen 1 let me know! I just posted them in the for sale section.
41/7 = 5.857
want to run 33" or even 35s?

Rear 8"

Front 7.25"
