Pajero front diff axel bearing

Post by ONOescudo »

Hi all. Ive got a mechanical type problem. 1994 paj 3.5. got a wobbly cv shaft with oil leeking from left side diff seal. Have removed cv axel shaft and diff seal. The bearing seems fine but the cv axle is loose inside. looks like theres a collar that the axel runs through, which is where the play is coming from. The shaft looks good. With extensive searching I did see a chap removing this collar with a slide hammer (different vehicle tho). so I tried this also. have searched over the past two days and cant even find an exploded view of a paj front diff and the Haynes Repair Manual dosent go deep enough. Am trying to save pennys for a big 4x4 trip away this coming weekend.
Helpful advice appreciated. Cheers MIKE.

Thanks for that Pedro. I removed the diff and let a mechanic frend look it over. He reconds that its all good. new seals and bobs me uncle. To me thers alot of play in the axle / diff bearing, and spider gear, but im not a mechanic, thankfully. Cheers.
