95 Mistral auto

I have a odd problem with my Mistral's auto. Sometimes the auto wont change out of 1st gear when it's been sitting for a period time (still warm). It's fine on first start up in the morning - but i've notice lately it's rough when changing into 2nd gear when cold. When this problem happens I press the hold button and it forces the transmission into 2nd gear, after few seconds it normally changes into 3rd and then I can flick the switch back onto A/T and it's fine from there.

I've just done the fault code procedure and the outcome was: flash one was the longest, which from what i've read is a problem with the speed sensor?

Also, can a bad battery affect the transmission? The previous owner installed a 450cca battery.

on my old terreno it was low on oil so i am told they only have to be out by 500ml and the outo wont work
this is what i would look at first
even thouht i toped my outo up
the last own did not so i am now getting a used outo
so make sure about oil level
easy to over look
